Livorno to Florence
Shuttle out of the port, then a direct train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella. No change needed despite Pisa sitting on the way.
Most ships also sell a coach excursion to Florence. However you travel, being back aboard before all-aboard is your own arrangement to make — we publish the journey, not your sailing. Your guide plays either way, and it is yours to keep.
- 10–25 min Ships berth in a working port you cannot walk out of. Lines run a shuttle to Piazza Grande or the Piazza del Municipio terminal in about 10 minutes; from there a local bus or taxi reaches Livorno Centrale station.
- 75–95 min Livorno Centrale to Firenze Santa Maria Novella. Direct Trenitalia services run roughly every 40 to 60 minutes and take between about 1h15 and 1h30. A change at Pisa is not normally required.
- 10–15 min Santa Maria Novella into the historic centre — the Duomo is about ten minutes on foot.
1.6–2.2 hours each way
Plan your return against your ship's all-aboard time, which is on your daily programme. It is earlier than the departure time, and if you are coming back by tender the last tender leaves earlier still.
