Mykonos to Delos
Delos is a separate uninhabited island reached only by boat from Mykonos Old Port, on fixed sailings. Read the constraints before planning this one.
- The archaeological site is closed every Monday, year-round.
- The site is generally closed from November to March.
- Boats run to a published timetable, not on demand — typically a few morning departures with returns spread through the afternoon. Check the board at the ticket office for the day.
- The last boat back does not wait. Delos is uninhabited: no hotels, no restaurants, no other way off.
Most ships also sell a coach excursion to Delos. However you travel, being back aboard before all-aboard is your own arrangement to make — we publish the journey, not your sailing. Your guide plays either way, and it is yours to keep.
- 15–30 min Cruise ships berth at Tourlos (new port) or tender to the Old Port. From Tourlos take the shuttle bus or a sea taxi to the Old Port, where the Delos boats leave.
- 30–45 min Old Port to the jetty on Delos, depending on the boat and the sea.
0.8–1.2 hours each way
Plan your return against your ship's all-aboard time, which is on your daily programme. It is earlier than the departure time, and if you are coming back by tender the last tender leaves earlier still.
