Villefranche-sur-Mer to Monaco — Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher)
A tender port with its own station, and Monaco two stops along the coast.
- A tender port: the afternoon queue back to the ship is the pinch point, and rough weather can curtail tendering altogether.
Most ships also sell a coach excursion to Monaco — Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher). However you travel, being back aboard before all-aboard is your own arrangement to make — we publish the journey, not your sailing. Your guide plays either way, and it is yours to keep.
- 15–35 min Ships anchor in the bay and tender to the quay in the old town.
- 8–15 min Quay up to Villefranche-sur-Mer station — short but steep.
- 12–20 min TER east along the coast to Monaco-Monte-Carlo, a short ride with several services an hour.
- 12–25 min Monaco station to Le Rocher, using the station's public lifts to save the climb.
0.8–1.6 hours each way
Plan your return against your ship's all-aboard time, which is on your daily programme. It is earlier than the departure time, and if you are coming back by tender the last tender leaves earlier still.
